Sierra Nevada Foothills

We happened upon this old barn while in central California during December . The location among the Sierra Nevada Foothills, its stately weathered frame, the time burnished sienna hue and worn board character talked to my heart.  It reminded me of a fading era when the family farm was America and the huge corporate farming operations of today were not even a consideration.  Today we are all rushing to get somewhere.  On this farm you were already somewhere.  Home and work were one.  You didn't miss the beauty of the day because you lived it and reverenced it on your daily walk to the barn.  I'm glad it is still standing to remind us........but it won't be standing long.  Does anyone care what it has sheltered, does anyone share it's stories............................
